Early life


     Messi was born in Rosario, Province of Santa Fe. From the lineage of his father, he came from Ancona, a town in Italy, where his ancestor, Angelo Messi, emigrated to Argentina in 1883. He had two older brothers, Rodrigo and Matías, and a sister, María Sol. In the age of five, Messi started playing football for Grandoli, a local football club that trained his father, Jorge.
 

     In 1995, Messi joined Newell's Old Boys which is based in his hometown, Rosario. He became part of the local forces that have only lost once in four years and is known as “the Machine 87“, from their year of birth.

     At the age of 11, Messi was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency. An elite team of River Plate is interested in its development, but they don't have enough money for his treatment, which reached $900 per month. Carles Rexach, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, has found a talented Messi because he has relatives in Lleida, and his father set up a trial with the team.
 

     Rexach, without bringing the paper in hand at the time it bid the contract on Messi on a napkin to eat out of paper. Barcelona offered to pay for the treatment of Messi if he wants to move to Spain. Messi and his father then moved to Barcelona, and he entered the youth academy of the club.

Career

     Messi playing for the junior team of Barca Infantil B and Cadete B & A from 2000 to 2003 (scoring 37 goals in 30 matches in Cadete A). The 2003-04 season, he scored a record five teams different: perform one match in Juvenil B (one goal) and got promoted to Juvenil A (14 matches, 21 goals). Later he performed for FC Barcelona C in the Tercera Division, on 29 November 2003 and for FC Barcelona B in Segunda División B on 6 March 2004.

     He played for the team throughout the season (eight matches, five goals and five matches, zero goals). Even before debut-debut, Messi has been performing officially for the first time for the first team on 16 November 2003 at the age of 16 years and 145 days, in a friendly match against FC Porto.

     Less than a year after the debut, Frank Rijkaard gave a chance to debut at the La Liga for Messi in a match against RCD Espanyol on 16 October 2004 (at 17 years and 114 days), becoming the third-youngest player ever to play for Barcelona and youngest club player in La Liga, before eventually record broken by Bojan Krkić in September 2007. When he scored senior first face Albacete Balompié on 1 May 2005, Messi was 15 years, 10 months and 7 days, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the history of Barcelona before heading back broken by Krkic in 2007, who scored from an assist from Messi.
 

     Messi said about his former coach, Rijkaard: “I'll never forget the fact that he started my career, which gave me confidence when I was 16 and 17 years“. During that season, he also played for FC Barcelona B, scoring 6 goals from 17 matches.

The style of Play

     Many people said that his playing style is often compared with senior compatriot, Diego Maradona because of the same dominant player the left leg. Messi uses the outside of his left foot for dribbling while the inside is used for the finish, and feed or assist his colleagues.

    Messi underwent a romantic relationship with Macarena Lemos, also from his hometown in Rosario.
